At work, on Sunday...

Have a major project that I needed to work on today but right before heading in, I whipped out the 50mm Sigma and got this shot. As much as I dislike working on weekends, it was a good day nonetheless and managed to make a nice swipe at my tasks list.

@ Exploratorium

Took the kids to the Exploritorium in San Francisco this afternoon. What a great place to photograph! Ton’s of interesting things to shoot and the kids had a great time.

One of the exhibits was this soap bubble display. The boys got in there and I grabbed this one when Justin looked in my direction.

After the exploritorium, we headed down to fisherman’s wharf and then to Joe’s Crab Shack! A fun day…

Photography at night...

Ahh trying to take one of those cool streaming light pics that always look so cool while at the same time, leaving work in a hurry and not properly bothering to compose the picture (the shot I was trying to get was of a flashing “meter on” sign on the freeway offramp (don’t bother, that one was even worse than this one… )

Anyway, the sky was amazing and the zooming cars would have looked good if I had followed the basic rules of composition but the cold and being in a hurry blocked my mind.

Funny enough there were two simply amazing events that would have been, well simply amazing that I didn’t get because not having my camera ready.

Lesson learned….

Happy New Year! (ugh!)

Ah, the new year…

With so many possibilites ahead it only seems approprate to start the new year with a big fat PBR hang over…

I’m looking forward to a lot of changes this year. Besides the obvious goals like no smoking, lose weight, workout more… I’m also doing a 365 photoblog for the year. So 2009, here is your first inspiration…

I took this on my kitchen tile counter, custom white balanced with my Sigma new 70-300 macro lens (the cheapy) with just the kitchen lights. Lightroom color editing include changing the white balance and some level changes to achieve the magenta background. Final smoothing in Noiseware Professional in photoshop. (pill was taken along with a couple of his friends…)
